What Is Hydrotherapy?
Hydrotherapy is a water based treatment and exercise program supervised by a physiotherapist or exercise physiologist. The heated pool (32°C) encourages stiff muscles and joints to relax, whilst the buoyancy of the water takes the load off the weight-bearing joints allowing them to be exercised painlessly.
Conditions Suitable For Hydrotherapy
Hydrotherapy is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. It is ideal for a range of conditions and illnesses including; back pain, arthritis, sporting injuries, post stroke, neurological disorders, muscle weakness, decreased mobility, cardiac conditions, joint replacements and many more.

Your therapist may also advise on a program of appropriate exercises that you can perform independently to help with treatment. It is recommended that these exercises be reviewed at appropriate time intervals so that they can be modified and/or progressed as required.
HYDROTHERAPY CLASSES
We currently run regular classes at the Beerwah Community Pool. These are low to moderate intensity exercise classes with light strengthening and balance movements. Classes are suitable for ALL fitness levels including those who are less mobile. See Exercise Classes for more details.
